So a friend of mine here tells me that he is picking up a used 02 Escalade with 65K on it, and he is bla bla bla about it - I am happy he is happy...then he starts in:
"It has the same frame as the H2"...um - no.
"It is about the same thing though!?" Not really..
"It does not have the DVD like your H2, but everything else is like the same" Yeah, no.
"Same motor though, right?" Nope - you have more HP in your motor. "Oh wow - because it is a cadi?" Yeah, because it is a cadi.
Then his wife calls my wife - does the same thing...LOL. So much for that friend. Some people are so weird about their new cars...I never went and showed a single person, nor did I call and brag about it.

Ahhh, the guy is just excited about it. They were probably really wowed by your Hummer, and wanted to get something comparable, but not quite the same, perhaps, what they thought is a little better.
Friends get competative at times, but they will get over it, once the novilty wears off. Perhaps there is a Caddy forum they can join to share their enthusiasum...
Just don't answer your phone for a couple of weeks... they will get over it.

I am trying to get rid of an Escalade to get an H2. They are totally different vehicles. Same 6.0 but different cams and timing.

LMAO @ sfox!
Good idea!
Yeah you're probably right...they are the competative type I think. Also I do think the sales person talked some smack...that is the same Hummer dealer I bought mine from.

Sound like your friend really likes your H2 but couldn't justify getting one. While they are similarly priced, it can be a bit of a leap to actually get the Hummer. Somthing tells me that the salesman filled his head with thoughts of how Hummer-like the Escalade is...it wouldn't be the first time....
Just be happy for him and if he gives you too much ****, find a nice big rock and put a tire up on it...then ask him to do the same...he'll understand the difference then

Now that has got to be one of the best responses for the same old Tahoe and Escalade sh*t I have heard

And perfect (or imperfect) strangers!) EVERY time I stop for gas, which we all know is often......I get the same crap from some geek filling up his car/truck/van, whatever. They sidle over and "admire" the H2 - until you catch 'em looking. Then it's out with the same dumbass questions about it being the same as a Tahoe and it gets bad gas mileage, etc. I finally had enough yesterday and told the little troll it wasn't really a Hummer, but a Pontiac Fiero with a body kit. And he believed me.........
