GOT DIRT? is off the scale

I was wondering if the stock head unit is a hub for the main computer in the car. I want to change my head unit and was wondering if I have to bury the stock head unit somewhere in the car or if there are anysort of buypass systems.

It is not part of the computer as mine is in a box in my Garage and it runs fine.

Soundgate makes an interface called the digistar b. It lets all the onstar functions still work with an aftermarket head they go for 149.95 + shipping. I bought one to install an in dash dvd but have been sinking money into building my new house. If you are interested in it let me know and I wil give you a good price. It is still unopened and it is brand new. I got it from logjam.Logjam's website Digistar B
