Question Eclipse AVN6600

Hello all, can anyone tell me is it possible to use my existing factory XM antenna for Sirius reception with the 6600? I understand that I'll need the Sirius unit but I would like to avoid going into the headliner again. For that matter can I just stick with the Factory XM and run it in place of sirius in the unit? Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes you can do that. We did that in my truck with a slight mod to the oem xm antenna end.

Great! did you use just the XM antenna with the a Sirius unit or the whole Factory XM reciever with an after market head unit that was sirius ready?

You cannot use the oem xm tuner with anything but the oem head unit--the control is all done via serial II data. You can use the oem xm antenna for either an aftermarket xm or sirius tuner.
