Re: H2 Duramax
Thanks for the comments. It was not my first choice as far as the color but it was the only one I could find with a duramax. Damn the luck... It has grown on me and I am still trying to decide if I want to black it out or just lose the chrome bars and replace them with the retractable ones. What do y'all think?

Re: H2 Duramax
Thanks, I appreciate it. I had always planed on going with either black, white, or green and blacking it out. But the purple in this begs for chrome... Maybe it would look good in all black I don't know I've never seen the ultra marine any other way. Anyway the plan for now is some tires and the steps, I will revisit the issue after that.
Bye the way this thing has a 2 inch cognitto lift on the front, but it has nothing on the back. What's the biggest tire I can put on the stock wheel without lifting it any and without it rubbing?

Re: H2 Duramax
I would say wait until you are really sure what you want to do. I bought a red Mini Cooper a month ago because I couldn't find a black one that had what I wanted in options. The color was nice at first and really started to grow on us even more each day. Then it suddenly turned the opposite, I started disliking the color a bit more every day, so did the wife. It got to the point that we are trading it in this week towards a black car.
Also the same thing with chrome. I used to love chrome, didn't really like blackened look, especially wheels. Then I grew to love black wheels and hated chrome etc.... I was watching a car show on tv the other day and there were a lot of custom H2's on it and I really like the chrome again, if it's not overdone of course... But then again, even the overdone ones looked really good, on tv anyway,, for some reason they always look cool on tv and in person at shows.., not in pictures as much.
I was also watching some youtube vids and its weird/amazing how much, how many variations you can do the H2. The combinations seem endless. I can't think of any other vehicle that has that many options for changing looks wise. Mini Cooper tries to do that. On their web site, when you click on the "build your own" tab, there's an animation that says "loading more than 10 MILLION possible combinations". It's cool at first, but when its all said and done though, it's just all really small goofy things you can add here and there like stripes and decals and stuff. In the end all Minis still kinda look the same except for their crazy color combinations!

Re: H2 Duramax
Oh I just found the show with the H2's on it... It's called "Rides" and the episode is "702 Motoring" and it's on the Velocity channel 839 on Comcast in my area...

Re: H2 Duramax
I like that dark blue color on your H2. It looks good.
I wish I could find some rediculously wealthy H2 lover who would like to donate a duramax conversion to a poor firefighter.

Check this out...Hellz gives a good summary of tire sizes and what will fit.
http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=42331
A quick answer would be: with stock rims (5.5" backspace) 37x12.5 will fit but likely rub just a bit at full lock. If you go with aftermarket rims they typically have a shallower backspace (less wheel 'under' the truck...more wheel sticking out from your fenders); they usually have a 4.5" backspace, so you MIGHT be able to go to a 13.5 on the width. Check out the threads in this search: http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/s...earchid=361707
The links to searches stop working after a while...the above search was for "tires torsion crank"

Well, I've got this email from an inheritance lawyer in Zimbabwe who says that I have 1,000,000 euros that can collect from a previously unknown, dead Uncle's will. He just needs some contact info from me to get the ball rolling on the wire transfer. If you like I'll split it with you, but you have to follow-up with the guy and do all the leg work.
500,000 euros...now THAT will get you one HELL of a DMax.
Let me know...I can PM you the gentleman's contact info...LOL!

Re: H2 Duramax

LOL. Yeah, I was doing that for a bit too. They say, "You've got to play to win," right?
But then they bumped PowerBall up to $2 a ticket and I remembered that Brian (from Family Guy) once referred to the lottery as a "tax on stupid people." Looks like the taxes just went up; so I quit.
Yeah, I sometimes find bits of wisdom in the words of cartoon dogs.
EDIT: ...and that's going in the signature block!

Re: H2 Duramax
there's a alot of support on this site to lift these trucks along with other mods, seems like there's a tipping point though, lift it,sell it.if it were mine i would take the side steps off and enjoy, they look like the biggest after market thought gm could come up with to pull in the blue hairs, speaking as a blue hair i would'nt buy a hummer or anything that has been lifted,i thought about buying a set of those wheels, just too expensive,resale,resale,resale....you already have the diesel engine,,,congrats on the purchase,

Re: H2 Duramax
Thanks tiny2012... I really do love this truck. This has been a hard week... I decided to sell my 2002 f-250. There was just to much big diesel in my driveway, but I chose to keep the deuce.
