If you start modding it more and more drastically over the years for extreme off-road use, it will become less street-friendly. Or so I hear, anyways
In short, mine was a daily driver for years, and I loved it.

At the moment I don't see myself doing hard core off-roading but our family has 24 acres that would be cool to go through. Nothing extreme anyway, just my stereo install which is waiting!

From the records of the truck it's been babied and stayed in the same state. (Arkansas) With only 38,000 miles with lots of dealer maintenance work done to it should be pretty good. The 95 service manual I just bought off Ebay will certainly help and knowing that good diesel and H1 service is just 30-40 minutes too! (not a dealership too) Not to mention all the guys on here and there which are willing to help out.
One of the many reasons I did get one was to learn more about it and have it for a long time. With less sensors and electronics they are much easier to work on. Parts are harder to get up here but since they still make them for the Army, they are available.
