Default Slipping Transmission.

The transmission on my 2003 H2 Hummer has started to slip especially from 1st to 2nd and is slow to change. Has anyone advice as to what is wrong because as a senior citizen repair shops take advantage because of my age and always repair as expensive as possible. When the shifter recently stuck in neutral the shop quoted between $100 and $1,000 to repair the problem. It helps if I appear to know what the problem is when I take the vehicle into the shop. Please help.

Default Re: Slipping Transmission.

I have a 05 h-2 and a couple of months ago when I would start out from a stop sign the engine would rev and very slow movement... I took the car to a auto parts store and for free they let ya use the code scanner. Well it showed a ignition relay located under the ignition on the column. ( Well I said that cant be right? ) but after chatting with a tech I was told that there wasn't enough elec signal going to the trans and this caused the slipping... I replaced the 45 dollar part and hasn't happened scene... and yes this did intermittingly also cause the key to NOT turn all the way to remove it.. ( don't know why but it fixed that issue also) saw a couple of videos on youtube that were helpful also... happy trails
