Did they add additional gussets to support it?

I don't think so. Should have back from dealer and I'll let you know.

You did the Rubicon?

Awwwe.... just trying to increase my reputation here on the board.

Just take a look at the H3 rock rails on their website, and see how they're gusseted, then compare to the H2 rails. You'll see what I mean. My brackets were actually what bent, not any of the welds....we strengthened the brackets, but haven't added the gusset yet. I figured I would test it out on the trail to see if it will make enough of a difference. - of course, it's really only important if you plan on riding your rails for 3 days straight.

No gussets. Not sure what they would help. Can't bend down or up. Gusset would be more for the rocks to grab. Dealer had to straighten all mounting brackets in order to get the sockets in. Love the new rails even though they appear to be shorter then the originals, especially in the back.

We leave a week from Monday. See you soon.

Bottom line, oldhiker's right....they're not gonna cause any serious damage. They will protect the vehicle. It would safe some $ if they could add a couple supports like the H3 sliders here - circled in yellow.

You can see that the H2 sliders don't have these extra braces....

And again, I don't think most people will ride the rails as much as we did on the rubicon....Some of the stock rails were even pushed up...

Doc, if you ran a line from the outside part of front to rear tires, how far beyond that line do the sliders protrude? Wondering if they expand the over all width of the H2 in total.

Thanks

I have these as well. So far so good. They do add a couple of inches of width, but its good because it keeps the rocks off of the body as you slide by or over them. They also provide a nice step w/o hindering off road ability. They attach in fewer places to the frame than the stockers, but so far they have worked well. Tellico will be the real test this fall.

Haven't looked too closely lately, but it shouldn't be any wider than the H2 already is even with the mirrors folded in....

Doc are you going to give a short review on the rails performance. Went to RR and did not find the rails.

http://www.rocky-road.com/rockrail.html

Go there and select the h2 super rails. That is the only way I was able to find the hummer stuff.

Doc's right, it dosent add width if you take the mirrors into account.
