Calling Kodiakz... need suggestion.
I've got an Eclipse 2495 unit in my H2. It's been in there less than a year. I bought it off a company off ebay. (supposedly factory authorized) I now find out that if it were factory authorized, they are couldn't sell on ebay.
Anyway, my problem is on hot days, the unit starts flipping from one source to another. On/off/VTR/camera/FM..blah, blah, blah.
It may power on, it may power off... at first I thought it was a loose connection or something to do with the steering interface but when we disconnected the interface and was sitting still, it'll do it intermittently. The only correlation is it does it when the temps outside get hot.
I stopped at the local eclipse dealer and they told me that it wouldn't be covered under warranty and if I send it in for repair, it would take 6-8 weeks.
Have you heard of this problem?
Any suggestions?
Thanks for your time,
Mark

Re: Calling Kodiakz... need suggestion.
Mark, sorry to hear about your problem. I have never seen a unit exhibit that particular problem before. You are correct in that Eclipse absolutely forbids authorized dealers from selling on Ebay, and only a few are truly authorized to even sell online. I would think more along the lines of 4 weeks for the repairs. You could try calling them @ 800-233-2216 and see if there is a service center in your area that could look at it for you (I would leave out the ebay part!!). If you need, I can send it in for you as a non warranty repair as they typically don't kill us on repairs.

Under normal circumstances I wouldn't worry about it but it seems as of late, every time I send something in for repair, it's within a small amount of just replacing the entire product.
If you don't mind, I'd love to take you up on that offer if it's still available.
Let me know and I'll start making arrangements to get it out.
