Default I hope it was worth it....

Well, after buying the Mickey Thompson MTZ's (35's) and using a Truxx levelling kit, many of you know I wanted a bit higher so I bought the Rancho 4" kit.

Unfortunately, the 35" tires only measure 33" which is exactly what stock size is.

Sooooo, with less than a 1000 miles on the tires, I couldn't take it anymore. I bought a set of 35" Toyo Open Country MT's.

According to the supplier, I was assured that he measured them and they are a true 35" tall.

I hope it was worth the money just to gain a 2" diameter increase.

The last set of Toyo's I had were the 38's on my old H2. I got almost 50K miles out of them and still had a 1/4" of tread left on them.

I like everything about the MTZ's but at almost 150 bucks per tire more, I couldn't justify another 600 bucks over the Toyo's for 2".

I'll post pics tomorrow when I get them mounted.

Mark

I believe you'll be surprised. I have the same size/type/brand tire, and they are def worth the extra dough.

Mark, I would like to have seen you go with 37s on a 4" lifted H2.

Absolutely I agree. 37's would have been PERFECT.

My only problem is it would have killed my gear ratio. The damn truck now can hardly keep 70mph going down the highway with cruise on without dropping out of overdrive every freakin' minute.

Of course, if I was to ever put another supercharger on, that may not be an issue.

Well, I got the tires in. Unfortunately, they measure 33 1/2" tall. Wouldn't have been too bad but I told the guy to measure them and he told me they were 35" tall.

Anyway, looks like I'm ordering the 37's afterall. I measure a buddy's Toyo 38's and they were 36" tall.

So I'm guessing 37's will be 35" tall which is what I was looking for in the first damn place.

The 37 Toyos are 13.5 wide if I remember correctly. I think they'll look great!

I'm considering 38 Toyo for my H1 but they're 14.5" wide. I don't want them to rub.

Haven't done any kind of programming yet. I'm waiting to see if I supercharge it first.

As far as tire height. There are a few companies like Super Swampers that are what they say they are.

Not sure the logic behind the differences.

You know ... if you Turbo Charge instead of Super Charge you won't lose your bet
