I have a 03 that I have installed a AFE cold air intake, Magnaflow cat back and the Predator tune. Will headers give me anymore power I can feel? I have read that there are some bolt on types, can those be installed by the average home wrencher in the garage? If I wanted to pay to have it done what labor time would I be looking at? I was thinking of the Edelbrock shortys?

Sure you can---it is all bolt on stuff with instructions. A pro will install the headers in four hours and the exhaust in two----so figure eight hours of his/her time---after all he is not going to start anything else that day!

I've got the long headers that bolt up to the cats and I received a noticable hp improvement. I'm told the short headers sound louder than stock, but really doesn't provide horsepower improvement. My headers required some welding by the installer. From what I can remember it only took them two hours to R/R. I installed the cat-back system and it took 2 hours at the most. No need to lift the vehicle you just need a hacksaw to cut the tubing behind the rear axle and the willingness to get a little dirty.
