Default EMERGENCY BREAK PULL BREAKS

i have an '07 now in its 11 month of ownership. its not driven everyday, has about 8000 miles on. love it. this is no biggie -- but today the emrgency break pulllever pulled off and wont go back in. clearly broken. anyone have similar problem? it doesnt see to be attached by a cable, and i;m not sure how its attached. it is cheap plastic though. anyway, anyone have any ideas other than going to the dealer to have it replaced. TIA

Best bet would be the dealer. It would be covered under warranty and you don't want to jimmy rig your e brake lever.

My wife broke mine the first time she drove it.

I'm not sure how it attaches, but she put it back on and it hasn't come off again. BTW: its a manual, so it gets used every time its driven.

its happened to me several times cause i pull it out pretty hard. Its a simple fix onthis one, it just pops right back into place! Just put it in the position where it belongs and press it in.

Mine did the same thing at about 10,000 miles but mine broke the end of the cable and the cable and the handle had to be replaced.

It has happened to me many times. The first time it had happened I took it to the dealer and they replaced it .. it was a loose fit. It still comes off every so often, but it snaps right back on.

I'm not over 60 but some times my brains says I should be!

on the '08's it's a Release! I wish it was a hand brake!

My 06 LUX AUTO has a foot e-brake and a hand release...

or what... ?

Yep. I pulled mine off too. But it snaps right back on. Just don't ..........
Arnold Schwarenegger it. If you pull easy it shouldn't come off.

HUMMER uses snap in snap out devices all thru the vehicle practically everywhere.

I agree... I don't know how many times I reach down for the hand brake, it is nice when you are on a big incline and need an slow release on the brake insted of the full off when you release the brake on the 3!

ahhhhh yea..... the brake.... on the H3.

It would be nice to have a hand brake on the 3 with the manual transmission. At least GM had the forethought to cram all three pedals close enough together that you can press 'em all with one foot....... that is why they are so close together right?
