Too bad that thread didn't make the switch over.

I can take all the crap you guys can dish, I know who I sleep with at night . If she wants it quieter, it's quieter. End of story....

I might get brave and replace it with a streight pipe and see what I get sometime. I'll save the resiste,r just in case it gets to be to much for me, or the wife complains. So far I'll just keep the radio on. LOL

I did notice better pick up and a little increase in sound. More like mad hornets, but not to loud to bother anyone. So far my wife has not complained.
Yes, mine was taken out out and it's too loud, at least for me (and my wife)

I guess we can conclude that most of the H3 exhaust experiments have not gone well.

Im glad to be hearing this, I have been very close to do what hmrlvr did with the 50 series flowmasters but in seeing he removed it makes me think I better wait, what I dont want is a super loud 5 cylinder motor that is annoying. My exhaust guy I been using for 20 years told me he had no real setup that he could be sure I was happy with since he hadnt installed any exhausts on the H3. Said Id be the experiment, doest make me all warm and fuzzy inside knowing Id be an experiment, seems like that could cost more. I drove one at the dealership that had the perfomance mods, IE computer reprogramming, airbox kit and BnB exhaust, never heard of the exhaust before, but it really just sounded like a bunch of pissed off bees, and thats not the sound Im looking for and definitely dont want the droning sound in the cab.

any info on the computer reprogramming? was it a chip or a factory/dealer mod? This is the first I've heard of an aftermarket tune for the H3.

Ya supposedly this is a dealership option and they will reprogram the computer to be better, suppose to increase by 30 horsepower, frankly I didnt think it made a difference other than being louder in the modified one I drove. The bad thing about this mod is you are required to run highest octane gas, if you run the lowest octane for more than 3 tanks it resets the computer to stock settings. This was a 2000.00 reprogram and I just couldnt see the sense in it, 2000.00 buys alot of gas and accessories. I was wondering if Banks or Jet or any of the other chips manufactureres have come up with the same ability for a fraction of the cost.
