Thanks, Scott. I already had that one. That's where I got Delphi's number to try to get info. That was a waste of time!
BTW - PIE is coming out with an adapter like the Soundgate:

Scott,
I downloaded the manual from GM in PDF format, and it is posted on this site. Go to:
http://www.elcova.com/h2/details.html
Look for the 2004 Navigation System Manual link.

Thanks Klaus
I could have used that last week before I spent 17 bucks for the cadi nav book. I will check out the PIE before I buy.
Thanks

Klaus,
Any news on the VSS connection. I would also be interested in your overall impression of the system to date. Give me a shout if you ever need someone to wheel with!

Bevo,
I haven't done it yet. I'm trying to do that at the same time I come up with a XM Radio/CD or Aux solution. I have the Soundgate adapter, but I've just about given up on using it because of everyone else's problems with it. The other adapters are not out yet. If their release date keeps slipping, I'll just go ahead and do the VSS connection.
The actual VSS connection should be straight forward. It's the wire that goes to the speedometer.
I'll post an update as soon as I do it.

Check this out, Its kinda cool but then it also sucks. to much money for what it is. the Guy want 350 if you do it and 500 if you send it to him. Just as well spend 250 on a good 7in monitor to do the same.

Scott,
I just can't see needing TV on the NAV unit. You're right, best to go with a separate monitor.

Thanks for the link. I am going to look into this. I sent them an email.
We need to be able to start our kids DVDs and from the front seats you can not see the headrest monitors.
Klaus
Have you connected the VSS yet?
Cheers

Not yet... I'm working on getting another music source to connect at the same time I connect the VSS.
Also, it has been too COLD for me to work on the truck.

You think it is too cold in Atlanta! It is 15 degrees in my garage. My PAC unit that runs my sub box quit working a month ago and I can not stand the thought of freezing my a$$ off to fix it.

True, cold is a relative thing... But remember, I moved 250 miles NORTH when I moved to Atlanta!

you won't be able to use your DVD to plat movies for the kids. What this does is lets you connect another video sorce to the HU and see it on your screen. To me it is lame.

I have the DVD player under the back seat. From the front seat you can reach and put a DVD in the player but you can't see the screen to know when to push play at the menus.
This would be perfict for what we need.

Congratulations, and welcome to the forum.
My next project is to add the 6 CD Changer from the Escalade in the OnStar location. I have most of the parts and instructions. Hopefully, in a couple of weeks I’ll have it done.
I also want XM Radio, so I’m working on that as well.

I’d like to add that the Chevy Avalanche guys have a great forum, and have really taken the lead on electronic goodies for GM trucks.
If you get a chance, I highly recommend you take a look at their forum:

Shouldn't the unit you bought be able to play XM radio? I know the DVD NAV that is coming with my SUT has XM.
That's great news that your install worked. I've seen one for sale on Ebay so far and I think it went for $1550. I plan on selling mine once I get my SUT as it was preordered with the build.

Unfortunately, the Factory XM Radio Option from GM includes a separate digital tuner box... And it is NOT available for sale. Also, they are VIN locked to the vehicle they are installed in, so a used part is not an option. The dealer cannot unlock them.
