I'm going to miss Hummer dealers
I had the first problem with my H2, a defective low range switch that is being replaced under warranty. Got the Service 4WD light after having mud over the steps and using 4 low in an Easter deluge at a friend's farm. I called On Star and they wanted to know when I wanted to bring it in to Lynch and made all the arrangements. While it's in I'm having the wheels rotated and balanced and some other minor stuff.
What I'm really going to miss is this dealership. The people are great there and I've had nothing but excellent experiences with them. They even apologized that they couldn't give me a 2 for a loaner and could only give me an H3 - I forgot how loud those turn blinkers were in the H3 and I love the rear vision camera that pops out of the mirror.
I talked with Jim Lynch and we commiserated on the fate of Hummer and what's happening to the American auto industry. He is such a class guy and still drives his H1 to work daily. For all he's been through he seemed pretty upbeat and we shared stories about some of the sponsored dealer outings. Probably the best dealer I've ever dealt with of any brand. As for the future of Hummer, he hinted he would like to see AM General put out some H1s and his dealership gets calls for H1 parts daily. He said "there's no imminent plans to close the dealership, but you know this is a 7.5 million dollar building..........."
