Re: key fob remote
i have had this happen, kinda before.
if something is left on in the truck, i.e. lights on, door not closed all the way. and it has to auto shut off. then when i come back the remote dosent work.
put the key in and turn on the truck, and all is fine with the remote.

Re: key fob remote
maybe this thing is haunted ,some days it works fine and some days it doesn't. and some days the DIC displays service air bag and the red picto graph is lit and some days it ain't. very strange indeed.

Re: key fob remote
Sorry to say I have never had those exact problems but my remote did die me. I purchased one online for about $20 and have a website where you can go to reprogram. Its way cheaper than the $70 the dealer wanted. Website works for many different makes and models.

Re: key fob remote
BOTH REMOTE 1 AND 2 ,stopped working at the same time and I put 2 new batterys in and still no good .they will now not take a reprograming . probably a bad ground or body module .

I'm no expert on this, but that would be one to def. check into. IT seems the body control module was an issue on my 03 and 04. Not sure why or if it was a model year thing or not.

Re: key fob remote
Speaking of ghost
I parked at a shooting range parking lot one time and the remote did not work...i though damn thats weird.
Well two weeks later I parked in the EXACT same space and the remote did not work again??
There was a power line right over the truck (about 12 feet high) don't know if that had anything to do with it.
