Exhaust, Headers, Cam Questions
I currently own a 2005 SUT with 78,000 miles. I have had a lot of good times and recently thought about selling. Its black on black with all the options, 20" chrome wheels and 35" mud grapplers. The body is not in the best shape so I have been asking $21,000. With no buyers out there here is what I am considering.
Long Tube Headers
Exhaust
Aftermarket Cam
Torque Converter
Does anyone have experience with these mods? Am I crazy? I have had many corvettes with these mods and had no troubles.
Also is there anyone in the Oklahoma-North Texas area capable of this work
All info is appreciated!!

Re: Exhaust, Headers, Cam Questions
you will also need to have the computer done if you want it to run right .and you might want to have the heads ported and polished .then after you fry the trans you can get a HP trans rebilld .

Re: Exhaust, Headers, Cam Questions
If you really want the power then do a supercharger kit and be done in about 10 hours and it will probally turn out to be the same in cost.

Re: Exhaust, Headers, Cam Questions
for a supercharger to work to it's full potential ,you will need a differant cam, lower compression ,larger injectors ,and a reprogram of the computer . a supercharger will work on a stock vehicle ,but not as well as it could . lots of folks run a blower on a stock engine and are happy ,but to do it right you need to spend big bucks .

Re: Exhaust, Headers, Cam Questions
Even with the mods the truck is never going to be fast short of spending some kind of crazy money on a total build and a crazy forced induction set up or going with a D-Max swap with a ton of mods..... as IRA mentioned you will be doing a trans at that point as well. I would leave it alone and drive it or sell it. If you want to go fast get something that doesnt weigh 6600 pounds
