Just out of curiosity, which part of the revolver was not operating?

What types of loads were you shooting?

It's a Ruger GP100 .357 ...2 inch barrell

Over the weekend I shot around 200 rounds of .38's and the gun shot great. Loaded .357 rounds the next day and after shooting the first 6 rounds the cylinder jammed and will not open. I took the gun completely apart and could not get it unjammed. Had someone else with the same exact gun come over, took his apart, and did not see anything out of the ordinary.

So........off the the gunsmith it went.

Bummer about the jam. I'm not doubting your description of you firearm, but on Ruger's website, they don't have GP100s with 2-inch barrels. Are you sure it's not an SP101? Also, if the revolover is yours, the two-inch barrel removes most of the velocity of the .357 mag rounds. I've seen the tables, and there's a huge drop-off in the velocity of .357 mag rounds when you go from a three-inch to a two-inch barrel. So, you might just want to shoot .38 Special +P rounds anyway. My father carries a 3-inch .357 mag for that very reason.

By chance, had you cleaned the gun? Did you inspect the rounds at all? Did you try to jam a .44 into the .357?

No man, I cleaned the gun the friday before going up....

All of the rounds looked fine, shot fine, and were for sure .357 loads. The cylinder even chambered the bullets and moved correctly aftwerwards, it just wouldn't open.........

Dang man. It takes a special person to jam a revolver. Congrats!

You should get a Glock. They never jam. Never.

gotta agree with that....i've ran about 10,000 rounds total through my 3 glocks and my G26 only jammed once when my wife shot it and limp wristed it. Its her CCW. I carry a G17 with trijicon sights.

a revolver is a machine...and machines break. I have a cheap 22LR pistol that I have trouble with ejecting the spent shells from the cylinder when it gets dirty.
