I hate to be the practical one, and all but...

My wife has given the go ahead for me to acquire a new H3, and I've got a GM supplier # to take about $3k off so that's cool. My issues are as follows:

1)I want a 5-speed manual trans., but worry that it will be a bigger deduct later when I go to sell/trade

2)Considering the Adv. package to go with the Lux...has anyone priced how much replacement tires will cost???

Not an expert; however, I would guess the 5-speed manual will be a drawback. My personal experience in off-roading has shown me that automatics are better, since you can brake and use the accelerator at the same time, but with a manual it is harder. Plus in deep sandy conditions you have to ride the clutch, so the clutch requires replacing earlier. (Something I learned while traversing dry quick sand on a trail in Utah last year, and making the mistake to stop. )
As for the tires, I bet they are cheaper than a set of Vette tires.
Tire Rack does not show the Bridgestone Dueler ATs for the H3 with off-road. Reason for this might be that these tires are new to Bridgstone in this particular size.
However, the do have the Yokohama Geolander AT Plus IIs for $117 each, plus shipping. All I can say about these tires are they are damn good. I have had a set on my Jeep for two years (removing those worthless Wrangler RT/S tires that came on the vehicle), and with 25K miles, the tires still look like new. They are great to go through almost anything and evidently wear great.
The Bridgestone ATs are also quite good, but will probably cost about $50.00 a tire more and are probably a little quieter than the Yokohamas.
