Exhaust, Air Intake, etc
I am contimplating getting an exhaust system, throttle body spacer, air intake, and PCM from PCMfor less.
I have a 2007 and wanted to know if these are worth getting. And which ones...I see most of the exhausts and intakes are for the 3.5L
I want to get a little more power and possibly some better gas mileage.
My driving is pretty much 100% highway...I go up and down the Gareden State Parkway in cruise control at 79mph and am getting about 12mpg. I didn't buy the truck for fuel economy but I do see people her say they are getting in upper teens.
thanks

Re: Exhaust, Air Intake, etc
Yea, when I drive full highway, I get around 18mpg. 12 seems awefully low.
The Gibson exhaust I got for my 07 was listed for an 06. I had no install problems. I would say there is no difference between the 06 and 07 for a cat-back system. Not sure about the other stuff though.
I'm waiting for K&N to come out with the 07 kit, from what I've read, there is a difference for the aintake between the 06 and 07.
I don't think I would get the throttle body spacer. Everything I've read suggest they don't do anything, but I've never had one.
The pcm tune is worth it.
Good luck with your upgrades!

Re: Exhaust, Air Intake, etc
Volant CAI is the only intake choice for me
Either Volant or Corsa exhaust
NO on the throttle body spacer! Doesn't make sense to open up the intake & exhaust for more flow, only to then restrict it down with the spacer

Re: Exhaust, Air Intake, etc
I checked the numbers I went 242 miles and filled up with 20.5 gallons.
I did change the tires and wheels on the truck though. I went from the stock 18's to MotoMetal 18's with 33x12.5 tires though.
Also to those that did these mods..are the results noticable

Re: Exhaust, Air Intake, etc
My results are noticeable. It's not a huge difference, but worth it to me.
And my mileage numbers are correct also. I check my mileage on every tankfull and 18 is a rough average over the last couple of months (for highway driving, my city driving is around 16mpg). I fill up about once a week. And I drive 75-80 mph on the highway. I was getting about 17 on the highway but it went up about 1 mpg after I had the pcm tuned.
I have the stock 33's and adventure package. I would imagine with the stock 32's and lower stance of the non-adventure package I would eek out another mile per gallon or two. So I don't think someone claiming 20mpg would be unrealistic. Steve, you should try a pcmforless tune, you to could then enjoy the many benefits!
