Default Where can i get a spring and shock conversion kit from??

I fear that it wont be long before the air suspension on my H2 gives up for good. Its been doing some strange things the last few days. And i dont want to go down the route of replacing parts.I would rather do away with the air suspension altogether and get a complete spring conversion kit.

Can anyone give me a link to who sells them. And whats involved in converting.

Mark

There are a few makes of them on e-bay or find some used ones from guys who put lift kits in theirs.

Ok. Guys. Well it seems one of my rear air springs is leaking. So rather than put another air spring on. I would rather go with a pair of coils. Apart from the coils what else do i need to know in terms of other parts need to complete the conversion. Do i need to cap anything off? Pull the relay on the compressor. Or how to eliminate the" service air suspension" on the instrument pod. Thanks for any help given. Mark

Ya know air bags are only $100.00 each and very easy to replace them (under an hour). It rides better with the air bags and they last a long long time . If you like the nice smooth ride and the ability to adjust the rear hight for towing or off road clearance in 4wd Low you might reconsider. It will be cheaper to keep the air bag setup than to go coil spring I think.
Now if your ever planing on doing a lift ,nows the time to do it . .

If you insist on doing it ask EASY ED he has posted this on here B4 .

Good Luck either way .

Thanks IRA51

Link to when I pulled mine out.

You should get the insulators, four of them if going to the spring.

If you buy off eBay here is a link that will help determine up from down on the coil springs if they are "after market" ones.

IRA51 posted this link that may be of some help either way you go.

I've owned two H2's with air bags, and was happy to find my current one w/o bags. The ride with springs is excellent and once installed... move on with life.

I have driven both,I can tell the differance. The Airsprings give a better ride on and off road . No doubt the coils will be more trouble free over all .Life is a trade off ,the H2 with it's 12mpg is a tradeoff itself .

I went with Fabtech springs on mine, pretty simple fix that any offroad place should be able to do in minutes. You should be able to get springs for a couple hundred bucks, nice ones that is.

Only issue you will have after this is just remembering to pull the fuse for the air compressor so that it doesn't read "Service Air Suspension" across your dash display all day.

I do have to add to this though, so glad I am not on airbags anymore, so unreliable. Nothing wrong with some extra steel under the body. You feel it at first a little, but then it feels the same; you get used to it pretty quick.
