Default exhaust leak and check engine codes...

Hi,
I have an 05 SUT. Check engine light came on couple of month ago - scanner showed the common vortec issue of the rear knock sensor P0332 I think it was. I drove it for a bit, then I noticed an exhaust leak.

I bought it with a 3rd party warranty - so I brought it back to the dealer. I also mentioned the mirrors didn't "fold in" as they should, honestly joking with him.

After 7 days at the dealership, I get a call that they contacted the warranty company with the list of problems - exhaust manifold gasket, rear knock sensor, and the mirrors. I was told that the warranty company would send someone from claims out to check within a couple of days.

I got a call today from the dealership - the warranty company will cover the exhaust manifold gasket, AND the mirrors, but they wanted to hold off on the knock sensor, suspecting that the exhaust leak was causing the knock sensor to trigger. I think, if anything, it would be the other way around - the knock sensor screwing with the timing might have caused the gasket to blow out. Just my thought.

I'm glad they are fixing the mirrors (though the dealerships quote of $1200 is pure BS) but I'm not too happy about probably having to drop off the truck again to have the knock sensor put it.

I've see a number of threads about the nightmare exhaust manifold bolts, so I told the service manager after the tech breaks the bolts and has to pull the heads, make sure to replace both sensors and "dam" it with sealer like the recall says, and I'll cover the 2nd sensor.

Anyone had the exhaust manifold gasket cause check engine lights/codes?
