R/C Heli vs .50
You've got to take the time to read all the comments, especially the oldest ones.

Re: R/C Heli vs .50
I'm disappointed. The rotors were still intact.

Re: R/C Heli vs .50
Helis are hard to fly. I was always crashing ours. Anyone want one?
Maybe I should just get a plane:

Yeap, helicopter must be the hardest to learn in the R/C world, a search on youtube you will find tons of amazing moves people can do with them! Meanwhile, I can't even hover one
If I even get back into R/C, I want one of these though:

That's pretty cool, Wilfred! I'd have all kinds of ways to bust one up.

Re: R/C Heli vs .50
This is way cooler than an airplane. I bought a Raptor 90 Se for about $2200 and I have about that much in replacement parts on it. It's like riding a bike once you get the hang of it.
This guy is one of the best!

Re: R/C Heli vs .50
The catch to flying any R/C heli is in the set-up, once they're dialed in they are much easier to fly. Begineers often don't set theirs up correctly and then struggle with controls that don't respond as designed.
I smashed my old Concept 30 shooting an auto a few years back and never rebuilt it but this past Christmas we picked up a pair of those micro indoor helis and I'm getting the bug again.

Re: R/C Heli vs .50
Mine's an indoor copter. It just wants to go in one direction and I can't stop it. Maybe I'll pull the good ole' instructions and take another look at it.

Re: R/C Heli vs .50
Check the trim on the transmitter. The heli is going to have the natural tendency to go left on takeoff. You have to give it a little right stick to compensate for the main rotors! Buy a good simulator! That was the biggest help for me. Once you buy a couple sets of carbon fiber main rotors at $90 a pair you'll figure something out quick!
