How Many Of you Have tried this Tire Inflation Method..??
Got this in an email... Cool Idea.. But I assume if you use to much you'll have a small bomb on your hands. But it does get the tire on the rim for inflation.

Yeh ...what I was also thinking.... Starting fluid..(Either) is extreamly Volitable....Or Hair spray...I've seen it done with the tire and rim off the rig. Works.

Re: How Many Of you Have tried this Tire Inflation Method..??
I have been off roading for almost twenty years now, have had to do this several times. I was taught by a fellow exp off roader. Still can be dangerous, but very effective when done properly. Got an instant arm shave once when i used a little to much ether, could have been worse. When your in a jam you do what ya can to get out

That was pretty cool. I've never seen that.
Just wondering...what was the guy who first came up with this idea, thinking? And how many times did the procedure fail until he got it right.

We did that in the Army in Nam on A Rough Terrain Crane that had 12 Wheels 6 in the front and six in the back.. The front 6 were stearable.
One day the operator ran over a jagged rock which puncitured the side wall of one of the tires in the front and caused a blow out and the tire jumpped of the bead of the rim as he was still moving and had the wheels cut to the left.
We used 3/4 of a can of either and a rag soked in gasoline to give us some running away time. There was a hell of an explosin...but the 6 foot diameter wheel popped right back on the rim. Patched the side wall and away went.
Talk about a big ass flame.....
