Default Thinking about buying this 1998 H1.....let me know your thoughts

Hey guys, I am thinking about buying this 1998 H1. It has the TD and the open top which is what I was wanting. I read the 1998 is one of the most desirable years because of the new HVAC and a few other improvements. The truck has 66k miles, 2 owners and I can get it for low 30k. Is this a good deal? Any words of advise? Coming from an H2....will I be happy or a bit disappointed as using it as a daily driver?

Great lookin' rig !!! I'd go for it !! And, I see the H1 as a good investment, since they don't make 'em anymore.
But, as a daily driver i'd prefer the H2

Good luck !

For that mileage and year, 35K is a good price here in So Cal if it's as clean as it seems in the photo and in good repair. (It looks like a BEAUTY, BTW) I would grab it. Let me know if you don't! I have driven H1's on and off road and I love them off road. Like Jamie, I hope to own one. But for a daily driver, I would stick with the 2 or something a little more tame. But test-drive it and see what YOU think. If you don't commute long distances or use much freeway, it might not be too bad. Only you can assess how well you and yours will tolerate the ride daily. Please keep us posted.

I used to live in Tulsa! Anyway, my neighbor had a red '98 wagon, and he used to drive his daughters and I to school sometimes, and from what I can remember, not only was it a fun be in, but it sparked my love for Hummers!

I'd do it. Why not? You live once, enjoy what you got!

Hey HAficionado, did the guy have black hair and black beird? Reason I ask is that is only red wagon I see in Tulsa (which also has red wheels) lives right down the street from me. He has owned it for a very very long time....maybe since new?? If that is the same guy.....small world!

Yeah, my office is only about 2 miles away from my home.....so I really dont drive that much at all. I think I am going to pull the trigger and get it fully inspected. Will let you guys know and thanks for the advise. Anyone else that can offer additional advise, please let me know. Thanks!

I don't think he had a beard... He's a dentist, Dr. Baty, I think. We lived on East 106th Place if memory serves me correctly. I don't remember if he bought it new or used, but I can remember it rocked!
