Tie Rod End Grease Seal
After changing my oil, I shot a little grease into the zerts and noticed that I was have a small stream of grease coming out right in the middle of the rubber seal on the passenger side tie rod end. I am not saying it was losing grease at the upper or lower edge as when you overfill it, but this is a tiny hole in the center of the seal. I could reach up there and push on the rubber and more would come out. Is this a leak or is there an overflow valve in these? I didn't see this on the other side and of course, I turned 36000 miles last month too.

Re: Tie Rod End Grease Seal
OK, I have seen it push the excess out the top edge and/or bottom edge but haven't ever seen it push it out from the dead center of the rubber resevoir deal there. It is as if there is a hole in the middle of the barrier that holds the grease in place.

Just FYI, those are ZERK fittings. Zerts are breath mints.

Thanks for the info. I'll remember to use the Zerts before greasing the zerks.
