Default 30% H3 owners....

Hello, you might still remember me. I was browsing on line and found this -

Quote:
"Off-road: In a world where only 15 percent of SUV owners ever go off road, Jeep says 60 percent of Wrangler owners do; for Rubicon models, its 80 percent. Those percentages are the industry's highest, says Kevin Metz, Wrangler brand manager. (Next highest, he says, is the Hummer H3, at 30 percent.) There could be no backsliding here."

I guess 30% of the 15 % of SUV owners, but that's still high. I got it from "consumer guide auto" about the 2007 Jeep Wrangler.

30% is very high for an SUV that's actually comfortable, roomy, and refined enough for everyday use.

Ill tell you something, ive takin mine offroading before and will continue, but down where i live in south florida you see a Hummer at a every light, and i can promise you maybe one or two other than me have taken it offroading. But 30% of H3 owners must be quite a bit anyone know how many H3's there are to figure out how many H3's actually offroad

I agree that 30% is high. I drive around towm with mine full of mud and everyone looks. Not the norm in South Florida and 3Hummer is correct they are all over the place with bling and tires full of Armor All.

hey 3Hummer wher in S Fl are you? Where do you go offroading? Let me know I just drove up to Kissemmee for a trail ride.

Im in West Palm Beach. I pretty much just go offroading like in the back of county parks and stuff, they just took out like every tree at this one down here and theres dirt piles and fallen trees and stuff everywhere so thats where ive been spending my time off the road, im still looking for good actual trails but know of none around here. In addition to all the ones with the armor, and bling theres not 1 but THREE 3 pink hummers by me. I can sure bet you they dont know what its like to drive on dirt.

I would say that a minimum of 85% of the Jeeps I see have never seen anything more than a gravel road. Most of the Rubicons I see look even less likely to have been taken off road. I also find it hard to believe the 30% of H3 owners take theirs off road but if somebody from Jeep said it, it must be close of they would have said 15%.

Same here in Central FL. I drove around most of the day Sunday covered in mud from a Saturday run and couldn't believe how many people were pointing.

I will have to check that area out. We just did a run through Green Swamp then in Haines City on some private land Saturday. We do at least one run a month if you are ever interested in joining in let me know.

They probably got the data from some sort of survey, where the individual drivers decided what is "off-road". The dealer where I bought my H3 organizes off-road rides at least four times a year. Sometimes they have as many as 200 participants (no idea what percentage it represents), specially if it takes place near Las Vegas.
