Am I the only ^%*$%@#$ one who can't stand this????

I'm absolutely ****ING done with my goddamn ****ing little irresponsible ****ing 12 year old.

We bought her an LCD flat screen tv this summer for her room. For Xmas, we gave her a karaoke machine that has some stupid video screen on it.

Well, as usual, at least one of her gifts were defective on Xmas day. The video screen didn't work so I figured since I was unable to exchange it today, I'd see if I could hook it up to her tv inputs.

I grabbed the remote and could feel the batteries on the backside. I flipped it over and asked her where the battery cover was.

We discussed that dad, it's been missing.

NO THE **** WE DIDN'T... we discussed the battery cover missing from the cable box remote.

WTF??? Why is it so goddamn hard for them to take care of anything? Last week, she took her ipod to school so she could text her mother and tell her when practice was over. (I WON'T buy her a cell phone at 12 y/o)

I find out today that it got stolen.

I'm so pissed, we bought all new appliances 2 years ago.

Since then, I had to replace the dishwasher (because she used the open door as a stool)

The washer handle has been replaced 3 times (poor design but still)
The microwave handle has been replaced twice (at 110 a pop)

The then brand new refrigerator has a scuff mark where someone tried to polish out a scratch.

WTF???

My last set of appliances were 10 years old and never had ANYTHING broken, scratched or damaged. They looked like the day I bought them.

So here I am, spending 80K remodelling and on top of that had to buy new appliances. This time I spent 10K on kitchen appliances.

If ANYTHING ****ing breaks because of misuse, one of you guys are going to have to post my bail because I will make sure no one ever finds her body.

I'm sick of it.... absolutely ****ing sick of it.

How can you not take care of ****?

Seems to be the trend with kids these days, easy come, easy go as far as the "stuff" is concerned. They have too much and really don't take care if it because they don't have any sweat equity in it. Just my two cents.

The dishwasher stool thing could be the age, she just is not thinking at this point.

Mark, my humble opinion is that it is all in the way you look at it! These could be seen as "good" problems to have. I am sure that there are tons of parents who miss having their kids still around (alive and or now grown and out) to be mad at them!!!!

I am sure it has felt like a blink of an eye since she was just born and now she is 12. Another blink and she will be all grown and out of the house. Cherish these "problems" brother!

Just my humble opinion and I know first hand sometimes it is soo much easier to preach than practice this!

Thanks guys, that definitely puts things in perspective. It frustrates me to no end but I guess it could always be worse. I was just pissed and ranting.

I should look at it like I did a month ago when I was diagnosed as having diabetes.

At first, I was a little upset, I couldn't understand what I had done to find out I could get it.

That week, our family went to Outback and when we were leaving and I saw a young girl sitting in a wheelchair. It was obvious that she had been in the wheelchair and will probably always be.

All of a sudden it made the fact that I couldn't eat gummie bears seem minute.

Guess the same thing... looking back at this I'll feel stupid for getting so pissed for something minor in the grand scheme of things.

Like I said, just venting.

You need to put it all into perspective brother, I was diagnosed a few years ago. An old pastor of mine preached a sermon when I was a young teen, the only one I can remember from back then. Moral of the story was "if I had known that the ride was so short, I never would have complained". It stuck with me.

It does help. After I calmed down, I went upstairs, apologized and explained to my daughter why I was upset.
