Here's one of the pictures I took of the install (I'll post a few more in the photo section):

DarthKarl,

I really want to get the Garvin rack. How much height did it add to your H3?

I've got about 6" of clearance in my garage.

Has the rack had any problems?

i am picking my garvin rack up this week. I got it from a place in Colorado Springs for about $425. I had to go with garvin instead of Gobi for the price. There are trade offs for everything. 1/2 racks will tend to be quiter and not reduce mileage as much as full racks but there are the light issues etc. Lights on roofs also tend to reflect off hoods too.

I haven't had any problems at all with the rack. It's very well made and is extremely functional (plus I think it looks really good - makes the H3 look even more aggressive). I've been able to mount everything from a hi-lift jack to vacation luggage up there without an issue.

I haven't had any wind noise issues with the unloaded rack (unlike my roof marker lights!). The only time I've ever heard anything from it was been on the highway with it loaded with crap.

As far as height clearance goes, it depends on where you measure. Since the H3's roof is curved, you get different results depending on where you take your measurement. But from what I think is the highpoint (middle of the rig from the top of one of the raised panels) it looks like the rack itself adds about 5 1/4". I have a standard garage door and I don't have any issues. In fact my mounted hi-lift jack adds another 1" or so to the top of the rack, and I'm still able to clear my door.
