Bell chime when door is open with keys in ignition, and no seatbelt
I always use seatbelt, but I hate it when the sound starts telling me to put it on, and also when I open the door with the keys in the ignition.
Does anyone have a good tip on how to disconnect/shut up the bell chime for these things?

Re: Bell chime when door is open with keys in ignition, and no seatbelt
It's all tied into the head-unit...you'd have to go with an aftermarket head-unit and then use the regular-ole, NON-Bose/OnStar GM wiring harness. If you use one of the the GM interface cable/adapters that support Bose/OnStar you'll get a slightly different alert chime as those aftermarket units are designed to replace that 'feature' once the factory head-unit is removed.
CAUTION: It's all or nothing...using the non-Bose/OnStar GM harness removes both the chime and OnStar.
My OnStar and door chime have been gone for years and I LOVE it. The worst I get is the little, angry seatbelt guy looking at me for a while, but you know what?...fuk him.

LOL
I actually got a pioneer head unit that was mounted by the previous owner.
I do not have any sound on the rear speakers though, maybe I could buy a new harness and get sound on the rear speakers, and shut up the bell chime, that would be great.
As for the little guy, yeah, fuk him

Other than no sales tax and no motorcycle helmet law, the only other good thing about living here in NH is there is no seat belt law...
This doesn't really answer your question as you said you wear a seat belt, but in case anyone needs to know, a little known secret I found,... go or call your local Chevy dealer and ask them for a seat belt extender. They make them in 2 sizes and are for people who are overweight. I always get one for any vehicle that I buy as I do not wear a seat belt. I just cut the metal part off the vinyl and clip it in place ... Now the good news is, they are and were always free of charge through GM

wow I didn't know this:
"New Hampshire is the only U.S. state that does not by law require drivers to wear safety belts while operating a motor vehicle."

Re: Bell chime when door is open with keys in ignition, and no seatbelt
I've checked and I have a GMRC-01 Harness.
That thing is loud as sh**.
I've checked on google, and there is a way to turn down the volume, by opening it, and removing a jumper from the circuit board. But I'd like to totally disable the chime, and I didn't find anything on google about it.
Anyone knows how to shut this up for good?
