Default How to remove the chrome plated plastic air cleaner covers

Hi, does anyone know how to safely remove the chrome plastic cover without damaging the paint, I think the chrome plastic cover is held by an adhesive tape.

Thank you.

those arent factory are they ? and if their held on by tape.....just use a razorblade if you can to get the tape separated from the glue then clean the glue off the paint.

If they are the actual caps they should just pull up...they are held in by about 4 clips (if memory serves).

Yah, these things are overlays, so they are attached to the paint on the top with 4 strips of the double sided 3M tape. They are going to be a pain in the A** to get off, so your best bet is to pull off the actual part that the chrome overlay is stuck too, and then put some warm water in between the two with some dawn soap and let it soak. This should help to get them separated without damamging the paint.

Good luck, because that will suck and probably take some time to do...
