What I gathered from some of the posts on TTORA, he got too close to the edge coming down, started slipping, then turned off the side to avoid going off sideways. If that's true, then by turning off the side, he probably saved both their lives. Either way, it was just plain stupid to 1) drink and drive, and 2) drink and drive up and down LB.

Re: Lion's Back Claims Another Vehicle
Again, HTF did he do that? LB is wide as a driveway and in the spot he went off it's very wheeling friendly. IMO, he was doing something else and not paying 100% attention, got a wee bit off line, looked up, panicked and then tried to lawndart the Toyota. I wonder if he's related to the dopey Jeeper from the Rubicon?

I edited myself: It happened with the sun still up. He probably just drifted over and suddenly found himself too far over. I think. If the photo I posted earlier is of the start of the swan dive, anyway.
The good news: I found a music video they made of the outing. (Thank you, YouTube!) The bad news? No clips of him actually driving off the edge. The video's about five minutes long and the part about the wreck is at the very end of the piece.

(WARNING: FJ Cruiser haters will find portions of that video mildly disturbing. )
