Re: Crown Performance Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines
Are they any longer to accommodate for a lift kit?
Why are you replacing them?

Re: Crown Performance Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines
Steel lines improve braking allot. When hot they do not expand any when pressure is applied so brakes are not mushy. Improves braking distance and time.

Re: Crown Performance Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines
Is that your pic? There should be six lines not four.

Re: Crown Performance Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines
The cost of the set is $125
I ordered these with a extra 2" length due to the front leveling kit and the 37" tires.
they do offer them for the H2 with a 6" lift or you can have them made to your custom length.
you can also pick the color of the plastic cover. i got them in smoke color but they have like 8 different colors to choose from.
Taz already explained why i am changing them. Thanks
yes i do know that i need 6 lines, when i spoke with crown performance, i was under the impression that all 6 came with the brake line kit and so i ordered them thru phil at trail duty, when i got them only four lines came, so when i callled crown back i was told the last 2 are offered as a option because not every one wants them, phil is going to get them for me but crown is at the sema show this week so i have to wait till they get back next week.
once i have all six i will have them installed.

Re: Crown Performance Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines
You are welcome Cesar.
I most likely jumped the gun when I gave the answer and should have waited to let You answer the queston. I just happen to catch the topic was there so i do what i do. Try and help forum with information when I think I know what it is.
Did You compare the brands, quality, and pricing of brake lines? What brands did you look at? This is something I need to do sometime but, my rig get's driven so little I have not thought about it. This will change. Dragon will pick add-on but, would like others opnion as well as your selection process. Appreciate any advice on pro's and con's of different brands of brake lines.
What size rotor will work inside a 20" rims Diamo 8 Karat

Does tire size make a difference in brake line length? Or, were you pointing out the leveling kit because of the tire size?

Re: Crown Performance Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines
Didn't think so, it just seemed odd to justify because of tire size.

Re: Crown Performance Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines
Due to the leveling kit i added the 2" to the lines. when i take the H2 in for a oil change and they put it up on a lift and the front wheels drop, the brake lines look a bit streched/snug, so 2" extra should leave a bit more slack. this will be good when i go off roading and rock crawling, i due push it a bit some times and i do want to be able to stop when i need to.
as for selection i did look at the goodridge brake lines and they looked fine but i had read a good article in Dirtsports off road magazine and they had very good features and testing. i go to the CORR off road race series a lot and from speaking with some race teams almost all were using crown performance brake lines not because they were mandated or because they were sponsers, they used them because they work great and never have had any problems or failures with the brake lines. i figured if these hoses are good enough for 600-800HP trophy truck and racers they should be good enough for the h2. i had also talked with some race teams from Score who race in the baja 500 & 1000 and quite a few used them to run the baja and never had had any problems with them also. so i figure they have been proven to me to be a very good choice.
as for rotors for a 20" wheel nothing beats a big brake upgrade kit, brembo & wilwood have great kits, i think wilwood are a better choice and a bit cheaper but you are talking big bucks. since i want to stay with the factory 17" wheels i have to upgrade to what fits, so far new rotors and brake lines. the only other things i can change is the master cylinder to a wilwood dual tandam master cylinder http://www.wilwood.com/Products/006-...TCMC/index.asp and the brake calipers to the 3 piston brake calipers from ssbc http://www.ssbrakes.com/products/det...l=H2&year=2006. once i see how the new brake lines work, i will see if i will change anything else.
