Air in the A/C line?

I am curious if air in the a/c line will cause the a/c to mimick a slow leak? Will it also make the the freon go bad?

If it was charged properly you cant get air in the system unless it does have a leak. Prior to charging you have to pull the system into a vacuum.

Yeah thats not what my "parts replacer" did.
He just put the A/C on full bast dropped it to 60 degrees and fed the small 134 cans into the system.

Since then I have what appears to be acting like a small slow leak.

The other day I took it to the stealership and they checked it for leaks and added 1 lb of freon and now it doesnt appear to be leaking or acting weird.

Any ideas?

well if you took it to the dealer we have no way of just adding more refrigerant. system has to be recovered first then they pull it into a vacuum and monitor for leaks. then they will charge it and visually inspect for leaks. then use a "sniffer" which detects refrigerant to look for leaks. At least that's how I do it. That crap in a can is exactly that, crap. Any shop that does ac work will do it right. Just monitor it and if it starts to blow warm again have it re checked for leaks. If they were smart they would have added leak tracer dye to the system which shows up really good under black light if theres a leak.
