I'm looking to relocate my DVD player either still in the center console but towards the front or rear of the storage box. I do not like the sideways install of the current setup as it seems to take up too much space (not to mention it is upside down when looking at it from the drivers side. I'm installing the PAC audio aux input to the factory stereo this weekend and will also add an additional video and audio input mounted in the console so I can add an external playstation/ video camera setup.

Does anyone have photos of the install of a DVD that is better than this?

Thanks,

RI

I turned mine 180 from yours and just velcored it to the side. Hade to cut a slit in the bottom of the glove box for it to work, but doing awawy with the mounting brace gives you a lot more room in a area that was too small to begin with. I mounted my second DVD player under the back seat in the middle on the floor.

Good Luck!

These are the old pics as I haven't installed my new 7" model yet. Anyway, here is how the player appears in the front.

Here is the rear install. As I said, the new one is a 7" widescreen. Very clean install and very easy to rotate AND relocate. I know that is hard to believe, but it really is. You guys should try it out.

Mine is installed under the rear seat behind the drivers side.
But the remote receiver unit is mounted right under the rear wiper control, so I have all mighty control of the DVD unit at all times!

Mine is located where the OnStar was. You can see it here.

Drouke,
How do you use the Onstar then? I guess you do not use the phone if it is located where you can not reach it. I use mine a lot so it needs to be accessible. I'm inclined to leave the DVD in the console as it's also less prone to theft.

Our DVD player was installed at the rear of the center console. So it is accessible for the kids to change out DVDs at their convenience. Also had video jacks installed so the kids could play XBox or Playstation.... I hope I made sense of where it is located. Its in front of the 2nd row center seat .....
