Another LineX Interior
I got the interior trim pieces done by LineX in Tuscaloosa. The owner is John and does a great job and is quick and very reasonable. I highly recommend him for anyone that wants anything LineX and lives near Tuscaloosa.
Took out all the carpet with the thoughts of replacing it with something else and really like the look now. I found a drain hole in front of the driver seat. Just put down some husky liner mats. I thought the noise would be worse or the temperature would cause a problem, but no complaints so far. Just had to put the bolts back in the floor in the cargo compartment. The holes go all the way through.
Also, replaced the onstar with a PA system. Easily enough room for a CB radio.
A handful of things left to do and the interior will be done. Still have a lot left on the exterior before the Hummer is how I like it. I guess that is the fun of it.

All out huh? I like how the A pillars look! Does it make any sort of a squeek when you drive around like the stock panels do?

The hole has a rubber plug. Just took it off to show how it looks.

I just started with a couple pieces, and liked how it turned out so I kept getting more done. All the pieces feel sturdier and don't make any noise since the pieces fit a lot tighter together.

John only charged me $225 for everything. Probably would have been cheaper if I took it all in at once, but did a couple pieces at a time. I just had the plastic trim pieces done. He just sprayed the LineX on both sides of the plastic pieces to make it sturdier and ensure the LineX doesn't come off. I guess he could of put LineX on the metal too, I just didn't think of it at the time.

Re: Another LineX Interior
Dude! You're like my brother from another mother!
http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/s...ghlight=line-x
...even replaced the OnStar with a Cobra
http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/s...5&highlight=cb
...and I actually just finished all of the dash pieces with Duplicolor Bed Liner as the Line-X was too thick to insure they'd fit back together properly...it's all about durability.
Did you ever get your tweeters back in? That's why I went with Duplicolor for the dash parts...even using 5 coats (my standard) it's so much thinner than Line-X. The only interior parts I have left to do are the door panels...I'll prolly do them in Duplicolor too. I'm waiting on spring since I need to do the 'mirror fix' on my old style mirrors. I'm also thinking of removing the pockets off the rear panels...'cause they are just an accident waiting to happen (they break so easily).
Next on my list is the front cowl, the front fenders (to the crease in the hood), grill, and brush guard (then...no more chrome)...I'll be 'murdered out' except for my rims.
Next on my 'maybe list' is the headliner...

Re: Another LineX Interior
Guruerror, your rig is nice. I'm glad someone else on here has the same vision as I do. I'm thinking of putting the CB radio in the dash where the passenger airbag is and possibly a scanner in the middle storage area. I have a PA system in the OnStar slot that I like a lot and is very handy.
I got the tweeters back in, just had to do a little trimming, nothing major. I was trying to figure out what to do with the doors. I agree that the pockets are crap. One of the back ones is already cracked, I'm just tempted to rip it off. I was thinking of taking my door panels to a custom interior shop and see what ideas they throw out. I looked at the Duplicolor and saw a lot of people were using it early on on the exterior. Never used it, but tempted to try now.
I feel I am 75% done with the interior, then it is on to the long list of items for the exterior. What kind of winch bumper do you have? It looks good.

Re: Another LineX Interior
The winch bumper was made (or at least distributed) by Boulder Accessories...it uses a Mile Marker winch. I got a real good deal on it when Boulder was liquidating their stock. I think there's a guy on this forum that is making similar units...search around.
It's funny that you mention the passenger airbag...I pulled mine a month or so ago and molded a fiberglass replacement to hold another 8" LCD display for my onboard computer (NAV/entertainment system). Now the passenger can interact with the maps on their own screen, or watch a movie, surf the web, whatever.
You can save yourself some space by using a CB like mine...most of the electronics are in the handset. There's only a little box that the antenna/power connects to...I mounted the box in the dash below the OnStar slot (on top of the sub box).
Too bad your not a little closer, we could check out each other's truck...

Re: Another LineX Interior
I heard about the liquidation from some other guys. The screen sounds sweet. I might be in your area one of these days. I'm in the Air Force, so I'm always on the move.
