if you are driving 10 miles an hour, and you yank the wheel 1/4 turn to the left u hear what sounds like either something flopping around, or a knuckle or joint popping... i get the same sound going over small bumps and what not as well.. what could this be? im gonna let the gf drive it tomorrow and see if she can swing by the dealer and get someone to look at it

You should check your front skid plate and make sure that all 4 bolts are there and if they are make sure they're tight, my front skid plate came off after 1600 miles and someone else from this forum noticed that two bolts were missing... I'm not saying this will happen to all H3s but if you hear something weird (as I did before it came off) you should probaly take a look.

You can get the bolt at Home Depot but I'd recommend that you take it to the dealer, you should also call HUMMER and let them know about the problem, they gave me a free oil change because of the "inconvenience"... I could have caused a major accident if the skid plate would have came off in the freeway and all they offered was an oil change? well.. nothing happened so I just moved on, but it seems like this is a factory problem because it has happened to 3 H3 owners now, at least call hummer to let them know about the problem.

The number is 1866-HUMMER6, you need to have all your info and your VIN number ready when you call them... good luck!

I had a similar noise on my H3. When you drive slowly next to cars it is real noticeable. Like something is popping around. Since I first heard it right after off roading I thought I might have busted a ply in the tire or something. There were no bulges and about 100 miles later it went away. Never found out what it was, but it didn't get any worse.
