92 Octane Needed After Using Programmer?

My H2 runs fine now on 87 Octane. I'm thinking of adding an exhaust, intake and a programmer for some more power. For some reason it seems my H2 dies when it shifts into second. Is this the torque management feature people speak of? Anyway, I'm not interested in doing any mods that will require 89 or 92 octane.

That lag is exactly what torque management is. It PCM quickly and greatly retards the ignition timing prior to a shift. This makes for a Lazy or soft shift. It greatly reduces the wear and tear on the transmission. This is great for keeping warranty expense down but stinks if you like firm shifts. A programmer can help but you might have to select high octane tuning to accomplish that. I would call the manufacturer directly to get that answer.

Well anything that you do outside of nothing will require you to upgrade in your fuel usage, but hey with a Vette and Escalade you should know that already.. I know if I had a vette I would run the great stuff in it, so not a big deal, just a bigger gas bill...

The torque management is what you fell. Dan is correct on that.

You can install an exhaust sys and programmer and increase your hp by 70 without changing your octane to mid or hi.

The Escalade runs just fine on 87. The Vette requires 93 becasue its not stock. I'll tell you about it real quick.

I run a speed density ECM for engine management and do all my own chip burning. The car is an absolute screamer that has about 450HP and 530ft lbs of torque. It idles smooth, doesn't overheat and drives like a stocker at normal speeds, gets 25 mpg on the hiway but jump on it and hold on. It should run mid 11's but I never make it to the track yet. So she must run 93. But I'm not wanting to buy $2.00 per gallon gas for the sake of a litte extra power in the H2.

Do you think these claims are real? Can you recommend a good package?

Those numbers are advertised numbers. I have NEVER seen dyno runs with those kind of gains.
Advertised gains for a kenny bell supercharger is around 90 hp. Some how all these numbers don't add up.

Xtremeflow exhaust without cold air intake is 32 HP gain.

SMA exhaust is 28 HP gain.

Xtremeflow Power Flash is 30 HP increase

Predator Programmer is 20-30 HP gain.

These are all advertised gains. Do they make them up?
No I don't think so.

I know that the numbers Xtremeflow came up with where actual dyno number.


How much HP are you making with your Radix kit?

I have no way of knowing the gains. I have yet to find a 4wd dyno. Have you had any luck?
