Default New customer XM radio deal

The wife and I are taking a 3-week plus driving trip through the upper plains states next week. I thought it would be nice to have XM radio active for the trip.

But, no way was I willing to pay their standard rates. Other posts have been made about getting a deal when you renew, but nothing about new subscribers. I figured it would cost me nothing to ask so I called XM radio (1-800-929-2100). I told them I would like to subscribe if I could get the $77/year deal. Without hesitation she said, yes. I also asked for the $12.95 credit because I was paying by credit card and again, no problem. I do have to pay eleven bucks or so for some music royalty fee, but I am still happy with the deal.

So, new subscribers can get the deal too, but you MUST ask for it and say you want the $77/year and $12.95 credit card deal. They will not offer it to you unless you specifically quote the special pricing.
