Default Black pillers front windshield fading

Anyone else have this problem , I have a 2006 H3, and the black plastic front windshield pillers are fading almost white.

Is it replaceable, a defect?

warranty?

the piece is replaceable....i have several friends who have hid this problem. one of my friends with an "06 H3 has this problem its very very faded but he has not changed it. Another friend of mine with an "08 H3 had this problem and replaced it. It is an OEM part that is replaceable. I also had this problem on my "07 H3 and was going replace it but I traded it in for a "10 alpha before I had the chance to do it. These pieces will fade as well as all the other black parts on the car, such as the rear pillars as well. It really depends how much you leave it out in the sun. As for the warranty it can't hurt to try to get it covered under warranty, espicially if your car is still covered. best of luck let us know what happens!

Well I checked the other Hummer forums and found out owners were using Mother's Back to Black on it, bought a bottle and it worked great. looks back to original dark grey/black trim.
it was out of warranty and even te Hummer service guy suggested getting the same bottle of stuff to apply to the black plastic trim.
now i just have to do the rest of the car.

I've used lots of products on the black trim over the years. Mother's Back to Black is very good, but now I use Griot's Garage Black Bumper and Trim Reconditioner because it gives the same deep black as Mother's but lasts a little longer if your Hummer sits out in the sun and elements a lot.

I have a 06 and they started fading in 08. They covered it under the warranty. Sad to say they are fading again. Anybody ever remove them?? Looks like just 2 side screws and then pop it off ?? but not sure....
