Re: AVIC-Z1 INSTALLED!!
When I installed this system, I removed the AUX input and the HK Drive + Play iPod adapter. I am going to be selling these 2. If anyone is interested let me know or else I will just put them on eBay.

Re: AVIC-Z1 INSTALLED!!
Why didnt you just use the factory XM antenna? It worked in mine.

I tried to, but the little notches on the inside of the connector did not match up with the ones on the GEX-P10XMT. It was easier to just run the new XM antenna then to hack around on the connector.

Re: AVIC-Z1 INSTALLED!!
Hey guys.
My 3d hybrid mode does not work, and the sensor shows no speed pulse, however on the vehicle dynamics of the z1 it does record my vehicle speed.
First off what does 3d hybrid do anyway?
And my installer assured me the vss was hooked up.
I am kind of doubting that at this point, since these features should work.
Where is the vss wire located and what color is it?
Thank, in advance, for your help.

Sorry, can't help on the questions but can tell you that I did not hook up my VSS but on the vehicle dynamics on my D1 is shows the correct speed. It doesn't need the VSS hooked up to do this because it is using the GPS coordinates to determine your speed. I am betting you are right and your installer is lying to you

I would agree. The speed pulse wire is not connected correctly.

Re: AVIC-Z1 INSTALLED!!
Hi,
With the Z1 install and the factory Monsoon do you have to rewire directly to the speakers or do the adapters take care of the amp bypass? I still want to use factory sub. Do you have a good route for the Pioneer rear camera install?

I had the Monsoon system in my truck and installed the D1. Adapter takes care of all the wiring but eventually I will run new wires to the speakers.

Re: AVIC-Z1 INSTALLED!!
Why would you need to rewire if it works? Does the sub still work?

Sub still works great. It was recommended by kodiakz. He has don't a number of installs with the Monsoon system and has found the aftermarket heads sound a lot better after running new wiring to the speakers. My sounds great as is so it is just a matter of when I get around to doing it.
