Default Oil Questions

I just recieved my Onstar report and it's telling me that I have 60% of the life left in my oil and I don't need to change it until 11,000 miles. I have 4,000 miles now. That seem to be a long time considering that I have never changed the oil

Questions:
- Does the hummer come synthetic oil?
- If it dosen't come with synthetic is it worth changing over to synthetic?
- If I do chance my own oil, how do I reset the system that reports to onstar?

Thanks guys,
M

- If I do chance my own oil, how do I reset the system that reports to onstar? I believe its in your owners manual, or call your dealer and ask service . 4000 miles on your new motor isnt very much ,, but its time to get some new oil in her, My first change was at 1200 miles just to get the initial break in oil out and replace with syn.

I witched over to synthetic and picked up about 1/2 - 3/4 more mpg's. With regular oil I'd change it at about 5k. to reset get it to show the reset oil then push in on the button and hold it will reset same button as the trip odmeter.

When I had my oil changed, the place told me to turn the ignition to Accessory, and then press the gas pedal to the floor three times. I did, and it dinged, and the change oil light turned off.
