house shopping & truck fetish converge?
Well, i've started shopping for a new house, which by itself is a fairly dull process, but...
i had the idea of buying a farmyard with 10 or 20 acres attached, and then turning some of the land into a lil hummer park.
The cons to this scheme is that farmland around here is very good, and as such this plan is somewhat financially reckless/foolish, and my truck's chrome would be forever covered in goop. The pros are that its fun to play Tonka.
Anybody ever try such a thing?

It's much more fun to just go somewhere else and wheel.
I have 200 acres with various topography and it's just gets old. You need built in terrain and a good bit of acreage to have any extended fun.

yeah, you may well be right. my families farm (of which i'm one of the co-owners with my other siblings) has given me immeasurable pleasure this summer, but once the last rock pile is done, i'll be out of unconquered obstacles. To be honest, i'm simply afraid of the last handful of rockpiles, but with some really industrial UCP i might work up the courage.
But that land is several hours away, and its a couple of hours to the nearest OHV park, and it amounts to very narrow prarie trails with basically nothing hard at all, but many trees wishes to gouge my paint.
And i just have this vision of daily steam-blowing-off.
But you are probably right.

Talk to Aubs. He's got some serious terrain parks built on his land.

Re: house shopping & truck fetish converge?
My mother in law has a house upstate new york(no one lives in it) on several acres I blast around it sometimes nothing to exiting but a few hills and ruts.
I usually hit the snowmobile trails up there. There are many so its always diferent.not to hard so I can run my steps. When They get damaged I will remove them and get those rock rails that stick out to use as step and access roof.

I was actually thinking of doing the same thing. You can get cheaper real estate here in the hill country if the land is unusable to build because of the rocky terrain.
Heck, I wouldn't worry about the boredom factor. I just think it would be a great way to avoid household chores.

Paragon is most likely right, but if you have a Bobcat on the property you could always change things up.

See, it doesn't even take up that much space. Imagine what you could do with ACRES!! Oh, so many dirt piles could be possible....
Actually, I always thought it would be fun to have a house with a driveway that only Hummers could traverse. You'd have to drive everyone in from the road in the Hummer.

Re: house shopping & truck fetish converge?
well i've shopped around a bit, and i'm about to pull the trigger on 80 acres a little drive away from here.
boredom factor or not, the possibility of reasonably ofen playing tonka is just too alluring to pass up...
a loader tractor & some imagination and i'm sure some fun could be had.
