And when they do, they wait 3 years to actually sell it and the interest dies off

You are right about that! They want no risk and a reward. That is why by 2010 they will be down to Hummer, Chevy, GMC trucks, and Caddie. Toyota will be the biggest car manufacturer in the world before then anyway.
It is not like the 60's and 70's when GM had some balls.
