What is your "Dream Exhaust System". (Poll)
So it looks like I may have a broken exhaust manifold bolt causing a leak. I will be getting it fixed and will be doing a total swap out of the factory system for an Aftermarket upgrade. If you guys had free roam to get any components mix or match to build your system, what would you go with? What is your "Dream Exhaust Set-up"?

Re: What is your "Dream Exhaust System". (Poll)
Long tube header (dynatech) with high flow cats and the quietest catback I could find.

This I would agree with. These things are slow as hell so I've never quite understood the point of putting a loud exhaust on them but that's just my opinion.
Its always good to open the exhaust up and smooth out the junk factory bends with aftermarket parts but in our case keeping it quiet would be the best bet.

You can say that again... I'm already starting to regret the Air Raid intake system....

This discussion has been ongoing in another forum, and one of the senior HUMMER members highly recommends the dynatech over the multitude of setups out there. He praises the quality of the set-up and says it actually improves torque and low end performance, which is what I'm looking for with my deuce towing a trailer.
If I understand it right, you can hook this system up to the factory exhaust, or do something more radical like the Corsa system, which is the route I'd love to go with the Dynatech.

In the same boat, broken manifold bolt and looking at options.
Would love to go DynoTech and CAT Back but have been looking at OBX. So much cheaper and seems like a decent replacement. Anyone have experience with OBX?

Re: What is your "Dream Exhaust System". (Poll)
My dream exhaust set-up is one that doesn't cost any more than an OEM replacement and gets me 25 miles to the gallon.
Other than that, I would weigh the cost vs the potential gas savings. The one thing I would not sacrifice is the quiet ride.

I think OBX has a different way of connecting the down pipes to mid pipes. It's like a ball type connection where as the DynaTech has flanged connections that are bolted. The flanged are a lot less likely to leak.
Not sure about anything else between the two.

Re: What is your "Dream Exhaust System". (Poll)
pdx,
I maybe wrong, but actually I thought I heard the ball socket flange was less likely to leak. That do to the design of the flange and the way it fits together, it seals itself. Where a regular flat flange setup is dependent on a gasket, and how many points on the flange are secured (ie. 2 bolt points, more area to possibly leak. 4 bolt points, less area to possibly leak)

From a quick Google search it appears you're right.

Re: What is your "Dream Exhaust System". (Poll)
Well, we shall see which will be better. I might be buying headers too soon and if so, it will probably be the ones that work the best for the cheapest price.
If OBX are DynaTech copies (which alot of times I think OBX are copies of other well working headers. ie for M3 I think OBX or JVT copied the SuperSprint headers) I will go with them.

Re: What is your "Dream Exhaust System". (Poll)
OBX ARE in fact copies of more expensive headers. When I had my 06 GTO OBX had basically full copies of Kooks which were thousands of dollars. From what I've heard is the vette crews have had great success with OBX. If the vette guys are running them without issue they'll work on an H2. There were also a handfull of GTO guys running them also without issue.

Dynatech Long Tube Headers, straight pipe all the way back. Not really that loud IMO and even the wifey believes it fits the Hummer personality better.

Re: What is your "Dream Exhaust System". (Poll)
Just got done doing Dynatech longtube headers, ceramic coated, Dynatech high flow cats, and through my Magnaflow muffler on there from my set up before. Sounds good, runs good, I like it. I'm not sure it sounds that drastic of a difference from the stock setup at all really, but does help with performance. Already running a CAI and chip too, so maybe that is why the changes are not as drastic, but power increases are felt.
