GM's new key fob...
So this is supposed to come out in April 2007 - Nice idea. I wonder whether there would be anyway to get it to work with an 06 H3?

Re: GM's new key fob...
I'd like one! Sounds like they'll be available for GM's SUVs and trucks .. just not the sedans.

Re: GM's new key fob...
Sweet. With all the features, it probably has firmware specific to each vehicle line. If they make one for the H3, I'll have to get it.
"The fob will operate at four to six times the range of competitors' keyless entry systems, GM says."
That part's true about the current fobs. The keyless on my ex's 4runner and land cruiser had pitiful range (even with new batteries). But if I forget to lock the H3, I can still do it from halfway down the parking lot.

Some cool features, but too big. Plus, how's that LCD gonna look after your keys keep banging against it.

Re: GM's new key fob...
Looks much smaller than other 2-way remotes, smaller surface area to get scratched. My 2-way manages to not get damaged with my keys in the pocket. Plus, all those features are great!

Re: GM's new key fob...
I read about this elsewhere a couple weeks ago, and in that article, it sounded like it would also be sold as an aftermarket accessory through GM.

I have a two-way remote starter and alarm that is a bit larger than the GM version, and it is all LCD, and I have had no problems with it whatsoever. It still looks good as new, after four years, and I have about eight or nine keys on mine.
