So, let me get this straight, the options are:
Leave black plastic wings on or replace them with black metal wings for $300?
Uh, I'll take a dozen...

A couple of guys here have expressed an interest in mounting lights low, below the headlights. A concern expressed by them is excess vibration. The weak plastic wings, after all, are only held on by three screws.
Personally, not for me. That is why I removed them in the first place. I think a $1.00 black "L" bracket using the stock holes would work fine.
So, $300, $1.00, or nothing. Not a difficult decision for most, but you never know...

These are the front wings I have had on my H2 for quite some time. They are made from fiberglass and are textured like the rest of the H2 black trim.

kdio,
I have been thinking about getting a set of weld wheels similar to yours and I have 37 MTRs which you appear to have. My question is, what are the demensions of the wheels and do you have any rubbing with them off road?
Thanks,
David

David,
These are the Weld Mountain Crushers 17x10 with 4.5 inch back spacing. The only complaint I have with these is the bead lock outer rim. Where the outer rim meet the rim, it allows water, dirt, and just about everything in between the two pieces. After you wash them they spit out all kind of stuff for a couple of days. I need to keep a rag in the truck to wipe the excess water and debris. My friend bought the new Weld Cheyenne 8 for his H2 and they look great. My rim and tire combination do not rub at all. I hope this helps.

Kdio, I love the new wings. How much and where did you get them. I also like the Mountain Crushers. I was thinking of the same wheels. I also have the sunset orange color and the XTC light bar. The only difference is that I have the adventure package.

Hey Alec:
You'll be glad to know that I didn't even have to drill. These are just black 3-ring binder page protectors. The holes are exact to our front 2 wingy thing bolts. I have since located the third hole and punched it so all 3 wingy thing bolts (used the factory bolts then painted them black) are now in place. The 3rd hole on the page protector tucks behind the bumper (after I eye-balled it then slotted it).
The hard part was finding the good and stiff, full-page plastic 3-ring binder page protectors.

Not sure if I like the look of the front end without the wings.(or..as I call them "elephant ears.) I changed the look of mine by adding the diamond-plate bumper kit from RealWheels with thier LED light package. I definitely improved the appearance by making them look like they actually belonged as part of the front end's design.
