As a new owner of the H2 and coming from years and years of owning Corvette's AND Porsche's, I was wondering if H2 owners wave at each other when passing on the road like Corvette/Porsche owners do?

I wave to EVERY H2 & H1 that I see. Not everyone waves back. Makes me wonder how others could think that Hummer owners are snotty.

I've owned my H2 for 8 months and only one other owner waved. I'd wave.

As a previous Corvette owner, I used to wave and get waves back from almost every Corvette I passed. I've had my H2 for 1 month now and have waved to every H2 I passed and I have yet to have one wave back. I was even stopped at a red light recently with another H2 in the lane right next to me and he didn't even look over. I would think H2 owners would be more inclined to wave because there are far less of them on the road than Corvettes.

spike,
The dude next to you was probably just jealous that his ride wasn't as sweet as yours. We do have to also consider that with all of the windows up there isn't much light in the cabin and it can be hard to see what people are doing (waving? Giving you the middle finger? We don't know, we are just happy to have response when we "give the love" to fellow HUMMER owners. You've also got to understand that a fair amount of other HUMMER drivers who aren't HUMMER enthusiasts (a driver and enthusiast are not the even the same animal) don't share the same feeling of brotherhood that we all do. There loss.

There are about 6 or 7 hummers around my town, when I pass by one another i give a little double tap on the horn, they usually reply with a horn sound of their own. Much cooler than a wave and more people notice.

There's a weird separation where I live. There aren't many H2's or H1's for that matter. All of us with the H2 wave to each other, but the guy's with the H1's don't wave back. There was an unplanned gathering at the local mall one day when 5 people with H2's all parked in the same area. I didn't know any of them previously and now have 5 new friends. One guy pulled up in an H1, when one of the guys with an H2 said hi the dude just ignored him. Which prompted a "hey what's your problem"? To which he replied "when you get a real Hummer I'll say hi". After driving the H1 for years in the military I could never see how anyone would want one for their civilian car, let alone pay over 100k for it. Where I live there are no Rubicons or trails for that matter. In case any of you were wondering the H1 owner was David Ducovney (if that's how you spell it) of X-files fame. He and his wife Tea Leoni have a summer house where I live.

Having been a corvette owner in the past when I got the H2 and now the H1 I always way at fellow "Hummer" owners. None of this only H1 crap. All hummer owners.
With this said, the practice is certainly not as widely followed as in the corvette community or dare I say the jeep community. Really ashame. Guess all we can do is keep up the "community" spirit and hope it catches on.

The north end of the island is better for cruising being the much larger area of the two. Also way less crowded even in the summer.
The south end is considerably smaller. Not much area for cruising, but better in the summer time for gatherings and barbecues on the beach. It gets very crowded on the weekends in the summer.
This time of year would be excellent for a cruise of the north end.
