Default Car Cover

Just got a car cover as a gift, i believe it was from www.carscover.com, and the quality and fitmet is great. My hummer is still fairly new and its hardly driven...thats probably the reason why i got the cover in the first place. My question is since the car being still new and such, will it be safe to use to cover? or should i wait a lil bit longer? should i wash it first? i want to use the cover, but i want to use it correctly....
