Default where to install a subwoofer

I am looking to upgrade my H2s sound system. Kept the factory head unit, purchased some Fosgate front speakers and want to add a little bass to the equation.

I use my h2 as a utility vehicle so installing anything under the rear seats to prevent them from folding down is not good. I came across this item from JL and wanted to see what other ideas or locations others have used to install a woofer.

I want something that looks profesional and wont get in my way if I have to load up the H2.

Default Re: where to install a subwoofer

I have a single 12" sub in a box facing backwards behind the rear seat, its very quick/easy to disconnect should the need arise. Just pull the fuse under the hood and its 5 screws (Power, remote, neg, L and R speakers) Mounted the amp right to the box so I can pull the whole thing. Just adding the sub made the stock stereo sound simply amazing. Make sure you buy an interface (like the one made by PAC) that gets signal from behind the factory radio, using a line out converter will work but the sound quality is sub par compared to using the interface.

Good Luck

The JL is cool. I am in the same situation where i fold the seats down alot and would hate to loose that option. I thought about getting that jl box, and wrapping it in some vinyl, so it will have a more custom look then the carpet it is cover in.

Or, you can lay down some resin, bondo, shaving it down, then paint it to match your interior.
