Anyone else think the swaybar links look a little, well, small? wondered if anyone has had any problems with them yet? I had lots of problems with my lifted wrangler until i got aftermarket quick disconnects.
I got to do some really good lookin at the chassis at our proto shop the other day. they had a H3 all torn apart. body off the chassis. lots of good frame reinforcements. everything looks solid, except the links. is it a concern?

The thing is this aint a Jeep and so disco-ing the front aint going to do a lot with IFS.

I'm not really concerned with disconnecting the links, I was just making an observation about the size, or lack there of, of the links. front and back just seem small in diameter. maybe i'm not all that familiar with what they actually control, I just wish they were "beefier".

ive looked at having some quick release sway bars made. i have a lifted h3 and i think i might find some benefit from it.
to answer ur question, yes, they do look a little narrow. not sure what size is called for considering the load it handles..

All the stab links do is to connect the stab bar to the lower control arms. Side-to-side movement (body roll) is absorbed by the bushings on the stab bar at the links or on the lower control arm at the links. Therefore, the link does not require to be that beefy.
Up and down motion is about all it will be required to handle.
Could they break with a direct contact with a large rock? Sure, but the rock would also hit the lower control arm first since they are mounted on the inside front of the lower control arm.
Nice thing is if one ever did break, it would not be a tow job. You could drive carefully, until repaired, and cost would not be that expensive, especially since they are easy to replace.

f5fstop,
your right on, as always. i guess i'm overANALizing stuff again. but it's kinda carry over from my job. just like the tie rod ends, i think i'd rather replace those than the other things that get broke(next weaker place). There is some method to the "design madness". no worries. I think i'm gonna start a part replacement bin in the back for these little things.
